Dip Dyed Ring Holders

This low commitment project gives you gorgeous, professional results with minimal clean-up and maximum fun. See below for a step-by-step guide from Handmade Charlotte and Paper & Stitch
What You Need:
How To:
Step 1
Start by covering your work surface with a protective material, like parchment paper. Cut enough paper to cover the entire surface and tape the edges.
Step 2
Grab a bowl/vessel for each color of dye and pour your desired amount into each one. A little goes a long way!
Step 3
We lined up all of the colors and did several ombré tests with small pieces of balsa wood. We dipped each piece into the bowls and brushed water over the color using the Plaid Ultra Dye brushes. You can achieve a variety of shades with each individual dye.
Step 4
Gather objects that you want to dye and dip each one directly into each color. We started with wooden 3D shapes and later tried concrete 3D shapes – knowing that both would make great accents for any table, dresser or shelf.
Step 5
Set all of your newly dyed objects on the parchment paper to dry. We chose to keep all of our dyes separate for easy clean-up and re-use. If you choose to do the same, simply pour any excess back into the Ultra Dye bottles.

Step 6
Put your creations to use! We realized along the way that our small shapes make fantastic ring holders 🙂
